Dr. Joseph Amado Jay Galvez, MD, is one of the pioneers at the forefront of Facial Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in the Philippines. He has been Course Director and Organizer of the Minimally Invasive Facial Aesthetic Surgery (MIFAS) course which has been running yearly in Manila since 2006. He has zealously strived to impart the fundamental anatomic concepts and facial aesthetic and plastic surgery principles thru copious lectures, live demonstrations and fresh frozen cadaver dissections to aspiring physicians not only in the Philippines but also in the Asia-Pacific region. As Chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngolgy-Head and Neck Surgery and Chief of the Section of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of the City of Manila- Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center, he is very active in his consultancy, mentoring medical students and residents alike. He is a Fellow of the Philippine Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is currently President of the Facial Aesthetic Plastic Core of ENT Surgeons (FACES) and has personally mentored all of its Fellows. He is also a founding member of the Philippine Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PAFPRS). Dr. Galvez is also an international Faculty for Allergan Medical Institute and has conducted hands-on training, clinical facilitations on Botox and Juvederm injections and performed countless fresh frozen cadaver masterclasses both locally and abroad.
