Dr Ng Li Shia is currently a Consultant with the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, at the National University Hospital. Dr Ng is also an Assistant Professor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.
She underwent Otolaryngology training in Singapore. After completing her specialist training, Dr Ng proceeded to subspecialize in Asian facial plastic and reconstructive surgery as a clinical fellow at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. In particular, she underwent specialized training in ear reconstruction during her time as a fellow, being trained in both rib cartilage and Medpor reconstruction of the ear. Her training also focuses on reconstructive surgery of the nose and functional rhinoplasty.
She is involved in education of undergraduates, as well as post-graduates. She serves as the Deputy Director of Undergraduate Medicine for Otolaryngology, NUS, and is the program director of the NUHS Residency Program.
